Result: Won by 12 runs
The Blues played a great match at Churt today
Thanks to Colin and the Churt team for organising a 7 aside match and even then the Blues started with 5!
It was a game of firsts:
1 Ian bowled his first 2 overs for the club. ??Two is great like the first over contained dot balls!
2 Glenn kept wicket for the first time and got a catch and stumping
3 The five-man blues team had a cricket net before the match started!
Scores:
The Blues 160 in their allotted 25 overs (Zahid 22, Alistair 45, Mullet 63 not out)
Churt - 148 in 25 overs (Glenn 0/32, Alistair 2/35, Aman 1/25)
The Blues batting and bowling was tight and well-organised
Highlights were the 3 scores above with the skipper batting through after Zahid and Alistair had got The Blues to 48 in 9 overs
In the field Glenn led the way with 5 tight overs followed up by Zahid five overs for 20 and Alistair two wickets for 35 runs
The Blues ground fielding and catching was excellent with the highlight being Aman?s great caught and bowled.
We rounded off of victory with beers and an impromptu BBQ with Colin and the Churt team
We are planning a two innings game next year when we play Churt
Look out next for Matt?s invite to the team dinner in November
We may even have some indoor cricket nets in the winter to keep The Blues ready for the 2018 season!
